"Really Growing On Us"

Film: The Unknown Terror (1957)

Alias: None

Type: Man-Made

Location: Jungle/Underground

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Fungus is gross to some, and the worst for those who value their feet, but isn't really the worst thing to come out of nature. That all changes today, as now there is a fungus that turns humans into mindless zombies!

History: Dr. Ramsey was never a pretty good person. He always came off as brutish and a bit abusive towards others, and seemed to just be a doctor by title rather than anything else. But behind everyone's backs, Ramsey has created a new breed of rapidly-spreading fungus, and has used unwary humans for experimentation. Unfortunately, those tested humans have escaped into the wild, and Ramsey might not be able to control what he created.

Notable Kills: None.

Final Fate: While Ramsey ultimately dies for his sins, he helps in sealing the deadly fungus away from the world, and by extension, all of the fungus-infected humans.

Powers/Abilities: Coming into contact with the fungus will infect you and turn you into a Fungus Monster.

Weakness: Anything conventional, though covering them with too much fungi can overload and kill them.

Scariness Factor: 2-While grotesque up close, if they ever are, they don't really do much, and die in pretty unspectacular ways. Bit of a weak foot forward for a potential apocalypse.

Trivia: -Did we say fungi isn't that bad? Well, try and say that to the shrooms that kill and mess with your mind and body if you dare ingest them.

-And what about cordyceps? You know, the little fungus terror that grows infects the bodies of arthropods and slowly eats them from the inside before finding another host. Who says that this film didn't take a little inspiration from that?

Awfully scary talk for an obscure movie.
